Renowned adult film actress Riley Reid has spoken about the emotional toll her career has had on her personal life in a heartfelt video that resonated with many.
Born Ashley Mathews, Reid quickly became a prominent figure in the adult entertainment industry, gaining fame after starting her career at just 19 years old.
Over the years, she earned numerous accolades, including Performer of the Year at the XBIZ Awards in 2014.
In 2021, she was honored by being inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame, cementing her legacy in the industry.
With her success, Reid expanded her presence onto platforms like OnlyFans, amassing a significant following and earning a considerable income from her career.
Despite her financial achievements, Reid, now 33, has openly shared the personal sacrifices involved in being part of the adult industry.
She has specifically discussed how it has affected her personal relationships and emotional well-being.
In a 2020 YouTube video, which has since been deleted, Reid offered candid advice to those considering entering the adult industry.
She revealed that she often discourages others from taking the same path.

“A lot of times when people ask me if they should do porn, I tell them no,” she said, elaborating on the many challenges that come with the job.
“I tell them that it makes life really hard, it makes dating really hard, it makes your family life really hard, it makes intimacy hard.”
She went on to say: “If you’re putting yourself out there and the world is now judging you, you have to be OK with being shamed every day of your life.”
Reid also admitted that working in the adult film industry has caused her to worry about starting a family, particularly about the stigma her children might face.
She expressed her concerns by saying: “I don’t even want to have children because I do porn, because I’m worried [about] the way that people will treat my child,”

Outside of her career, Reid has found some stability in her personal life.
She married Latvian free runner Pasha Petkuns, and the couple welcomed their first child together in July 2022.
However, even her child has not been spared from online trolling.
Reid spoke about the harassment in a recent video, stating: “The amount of people who leave mean comments about my baby is crazy to me.”
She further added: “Grow up. Stop being mean to a baby.”
The actress has also addressed her decision to stop filming content with male co-stars.
She explained that her on-screen persona had made it increasingly difficult for her to navigate romantic relationships.
